Application Architect (Intermediate)

TekBank is seeking an Applications Architect to support the Florida Department of Health’s Enterprise Data & Analytics Platform (EDAP). This role is hands-on, architecture-driven, cloud-heavy, and central to modernizing and sustaining mission-critical, multi-cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design, install, configure, and document server and cloud platform requirements in a multi-cloud (Azure + AWS) environment. Applications_Architect_EDAP_SOW…
- Perform daily monitoring, health checks, and troubleshooting for hybrid infrastructures.
- Build and maintain Terraform-based automation and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment and compliance validation.
- Design, secure, and maintain virtual networks, VPNs, firewalls, ExpressRoute, and Direct Connect links supporting EDAP.
- Integrate and support cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Dataiku, and Informatica.
- Monitor and optimize cloud storage, performance, costs, tagging, reporting, and chargeback models.
- Implement cloud security baselines around encryption, identity protection, key management, and RBAC.
- Collaborate with data, analytics, and development teams to modernize workloads and build secure integrations between cloud and on-prem systems.
- Maintain architecture diagrams, documentation, and perform knowledge transfer sessions.
- Provide written status updates, attend project meetings, and follow change management processes.
Required Qualifications
- Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in:
- Designing, implementing, and administering enterprise-scale Azure and AWS environments.
- Administering on-prem Windows Server Domain environments.
- Managing Azure Entra ID and AWS IAM (policy design, RBAC, secure federation).
- Designing and supporting multi-cloud architectures for data and analytics workloads.
- Architecting IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS within Azure & AWS.
- Designing cloud networking (VNets, subnets, VPNs, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect).
- Implementing DevOps & CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure automation.
- Supporting cloud data tools such as Snowflake, Databricks, Informatica, Dataiku.
- Cloud tagging, cost optimization, and chargeback modeling.
- Identity, access, and policy management across hybrid/multi-cloud environments.
- Implementing Terraform (or equivalent IaC).
And 2+ years of experience with:
- Disaster recovery, HA, and security compliance aligned with HIPAA, NIST, and Florida Administrative Code 60GG-2.
A background check and fingerprinting will be required per DOH policy.
Required Certifications
- No mandatory certifications listed in the SOW, but Azure/AWS architecture certifications strongly preferred.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred—or equivalent hands-on experience.
